John's Review25 February 2006 Photo supplied by John & Coral Carrell Yip Ya! We did it again. It's nice to get another win. We came to Bundy nine years ago and went home with a second, so we are stoked to go one better this time around. We had to start the feature on a tyre we had already used to win the Danny Davidson Memorial, so we weren't sure if it would go the distance. Well it did, must be a lucky Hoosier. It was a top weekend and we had great accommodation, with lots of trailer parking at the Oscar Motel, look forward to catching up with Wendy & Gary next time we stay. In the feature race the first start was a bit scratchy, we just missed a spun car while giving the high line a go early. The second start was good and everyone got away and we moved from position 7 to 3 in only a couple of laps. Craig Smith got a bit out of shape to let me slip through for second. Once we passed Doug for the lead we took it fairly easy to save my tyre and didn't realise I had built such a lead. That gap closed with a re-start, with 6 to go. With Kenny hot on my tail I knew I could make no mistakes. No dramas there, we felt a couple of love taps, but had it covered for an awesome win. Thanks to Carina Speedway Bundaberg and all involved from the QSRA. We had a great weekend. Thanks

Title 10th - 11th February 2006 We struggled to get up to pace all weekend, with all the Yanks and Kiwi's there it's always going to be tough. We needed to be at Parramatta to do some of the lead up events, but our budget doesn't cater for that. We blew a head gasket in the last heat, but that is repaired now and looking forward to Bundy. Thanks
John Davidson Yandina 28th January 2006 Didn't even fire a shot this night. We broke a keyway on the Magneto Shaft. Since then we have got Burner Magnetos on board and thanks to John Payne our new Maggy is fixed, our spare now works like a champion and we are ready to race again Thanks
John Davidson Brisbane International Speedway 7th January 2006 It was amazing we even got to race, with the amount of storms we had in the days before. It also rained as we sat in the car waiting for the feature. The first heat we got third, but got a slap on the wrist because we were apparently over the noise limit. We missed the second heat while the crew "Tony & Alan" took off home to re-pack the muffler, hoping to fix our noise problem. Amazingly after all the rain the track for the feature was a dry one lane dust bowl. I guess when we race after the sprintcars have done 30 laps on it, what would you expect. Makes it hard to put on a show for the fans on the hill. Starting in position 9 we had a bit of work to do, with very little passing room. We started to move forward till I tried the outside line and went backwards through the field, so it looked like we had to hug the pole line and wait for mistakes. With a couple of stoppages and a couple of fine passes we made our way to a third place finish and happy to have a straight car and gain some good points. Catch you at our next show. Thanks
John Davidson 6 January 2006 Well folks I must say our return to racing last season and the start to this season could not have been worse. With a motor not right, destroying a car in the Australian title final in Perth, then a number of things breaking on the car like stubs, hubs, brakes, bearing carrier, magneto and recently a steering box, not to mention a bit of bad luck along the way. It's been a struggle to just finish a race, but on Boxing Night (2005) we finally got it all RIGHT and won the feature race and what a race to win. To win the Danny Davidson Memorial was a very special moment for our team. I watched Danny race when I was a kid and got to rub wheels with him later in his career. In his time he was a very tough racer, certainly a stand out competitor with his fine racing performances in New South Wales, Northern Territory and around Australia. We thank the other Davidson's (Michael & Family) good friends of our family for staging the event and hope the Boxing Night tradition continues for many years to come. As far as the race goes I had the best seat in the house, but I didn't get to see much. We started out of position 4, went high from the start, took the lead down the back straight and led from flag to flag. We got into a bit of lapped traffic, to keep me on my feet and a couple of stoppages bunched up the field, but we seemed to have the restarts covered. Having no race fitness I didn't need the last stoppage, I got a bit tired then, but made no mistakes to hang on for a great win. I started with a bit of on track celebrations, which continued with my family and crew well into the night. Yours Thankfully
